Turbulence appraisal

A lot of fuss about a complex problem.

Wind turbines are subject to various environmental influences that affect the load, service life, and their operation. These environmental influences, which must be taken into consideration when designing plants, depend on the type of site and its location.

The different wind classes are defined by the wind speed and turbulence parameters. However, the wind loads within a wind farm increase. Therefore, the turbulent wind feld throughout the entire wind farm is measured and compared with the design requirements for the turbulence intensity so that the result can be used as a measurement variable for the installation's structural stability. We inspect the configuration of the wind farm, taking into consideration the site's specific parameters and/or develop potential proposals to optimise it.

Within this context, we support our customers in the early planning phase by calculating and visualising areas that are suitable for the new installations.
