Inspections
Playing it safe
Producing energy from biomass can be immensely dangerous: many intermediate and end products are explosive, combustible, or toxic. To stay on the safe side and satisfy official requirements, TÜV NORD provides safety inspections prior to commissioning.
This provides system operators who produce biogas, biodiesel, or bioethanol with legal security, reduces risks, increases availability, and guarantees environmentally-friendly use.
From planning to operation
The experts from TÜV NORD know all the relevant ordinances, standards, technical rules, and the requirements stipulated by the approval authorities. This allows us to quickly provide you with efficient support in all safety issues surrounding the planning, installation, commissioning, and operation of plants.
During the initial and recurring inspections, we assess the safety and occupational safety in all relevant aspects for a biomass plant:
- Gas safety
- Functional safety
- Electrical safety
- Explosion protection
- Fire protection
- Water protection
- Emission protection, including unpleasant odours
- Noise protection
The entire inspection is documented in a straightforward report. The contents and documentation of the inspection along with the report are coordinated with the respective authorities and approved there. You can thus use our report to verify the level and quality of your safety measures to the authorities, professional associations, insurers, or investors.
- Inspection prior to commissioning according to § 14 of the Ordinance on Industrial Safety and Health
- Inspection prior to commissioning according to the Federal Water Act
