Terms and Conditions for Participation in Courses of TÜV NORD Akademie

Area of application

In the absence of individual agreements to the contrary, contracts are only concluded with us based on the following conditions. On registration, the course applicant automatically confirms his/her agreement with our conditions.

Conditions of attendance and payment

Our training events are open to all who are interested. The number of participants is limited for all seminars, in order to ensure that content can be effectively communicated. Participants must register in writing (e.g. also fax and email) before the start of the seminar. Registrations are recorded by means of an address file, processed in order of receipt and confirmed. Registration is binding for course participants.

The last possible cancellation date without incurring charges is 2 weeks before the start of the seminar. Cancellation must be in writing. In case of cancellation at a later date, non-appearance or non-completion of the course, the entire seminar fee is charged. The decisive date is the date when the cancellation is received at the office of TÜV NORD Akademie GmbH & Co. KG (TÜV NORD Akademie). It is possible to name a substitute as participant at any time. Payment of the fee entitles to receipt of the event documentation.

Attendance fees are payable net. If not stated to the contrary, the applicable rate of VAT must be added. The attendance fee becomes due without deduction upon receipt of invoice. Please only transfer the invoiced amount following receipt of invoice, quoting the invoice number.

TÜV NORD Akademie retains the right to cancel a seminar due to insufficient interest or for other reasons outside the sphere of influence of TÜV NORD Akademie (e.g. illness of a trainer, Act of God). Participants are informed immediately in such cases. Any seminar fees that have already been paid will be reimbursed; any further claims are expressly excluded!

Conditions of use for certificates

Permission to use a certificate issued to an individual is expressly limited to the individual explicitly named in the certificate and to the competence named in the certificate.

The certificate may only be used in the complete form supplied by TÜV NORD Akademie. It may not be used in part, nor may excerpts be used. The client is not permitted to change the certificate in any way. The certificate may not be used in a manner which could be misleading. In case of infringement or non-observance of these conditions, TÜV NORD Akademie has the right to prohibit further use of the certificate.

If a claim should be made against TÜV NORD Akademie by a third party or third parties based on illegal, improper or misleading use of the certificate, the client shall hold TÜV NORD Akademie harmless with regard to all the third party claims.

Final provisions

If any of the foregoing provisions are or become ineffective or invalid, the validity of the other provisions shall remain unaffected. In place of the ineffective provisions, provisions should apply which most closely approach the economic objective of the contract and which take the interests of the two parties to the contract duly into consideration.

The data that are needed for registration and for orderly implementation of a seminar are recorded and processed electronically (§ 33 BDSG). Data are only transferred to third parties to the extent permitted by the current data protection laws and regulations.
