Certification of consumer goods manufacturers according to BRC CP
Enhanced supply capability
It is not only end consumers who want to be sure that products are safe and fulfil legal requirements. Retailers also have the duty only to offer goods that comply with the regulations in all the countries in which they are developed, produced, sold, marketed, advertised and sold. This aim is met by certification according to the Global Standard Consumer Products (CP) of the British Retail Consortium (BRC): the certification allows manufacturers, intermediaries and distributors to demonstrate that there can be no objection to their products as regards quality, safety and legal conformity.
For almost every sector
TÜV NORD CERT offers this certification for almost all consumer goods. The only exceptions are food, packaging materials, motor vehicles, fuels, services, pharmaceuticals, plants and animals. The prerequisites for a successful audit are acceptance of a hazard and risk management system and the introduction of suitable controls, establishment of an effective and documented quality management system and effective control of the surroundings of the local environment, the products, the processes and the personnel.
Better image – fewer risks
Many individual retailers and retail chains who purchase their goods from all over the world insist that suppliers hold BRC certification. A successful audit and a certificate from TÜV NORD CERT documents the supplier's reliability and improves the chances for companies to become successful suppliers or service providers. Certification also brings image enhancement, reduced risks and fewer warranty claims and in general makes a valuable contribution to product safety.
